Implementation of AI Solutions

Call No. 02-132-K “Implementation of AI Solutions” is a planned call under the 2021–2027 EU investment programme, under the activity “Encouraging SMEs to adopt digital technologies, with priority given to artificial intelligence solutions” (activity codes 05-001-01-05-05-09-01 and 05-001-01-05-05-09-02). The call is administered by the Innovation Agency (Inovacijų agentūra); the funding source is the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF), the form of funding is a grant, and projects are selected through a competitive procedure. This is the second call under the same activity, following call No. 02-126-K, which ran from February to June 2026.

Who it is for

According to the information published on esinvesticijos.lt, eligible applicants are micro, small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), i.e. private-sector legal entities. The purpose of the call is to encourage SMEs to adopt digital technologies, with priority given to artificial intelligence solutions. In the previous call under the same activity, No. 02-126-K, support was aimed at industrial companies: it funded the implementation of AI-related digital technologies that help companies use data more effectively and digitise production processes. The direction of the new call is likely to be analogous, but the exact target group will be defined in the call description.

Funding terms

• Total call amount — EUR 3,750,000 (ERDF funds).
• Maximum grant per project — EUR 70,000.
• The minimum grant amount for the new call has not yet been published — it will appear in the call description (in the previous call No. 02-126-K it was EUR 15,000).
• The funding intensity is currently marked “information in preparation” on the portal — it will be published in the call description (in the previous call — up to 50% of eligible costs).
• The activity runs under two separate codes, one for the Capital region (Vilnius region) and one for the Central and Western Lithuania region, but the split of the new call's budget between the regions has not yet been published.

Applicant requirements

As of 11 July 2026, the only confirmed detail about call No. 02-132-K is that applicants will have to be SMEs. Detailed eligibility requirements — economic activity types by EVRK (the Lithuanian equivalent of NACE), minimum length of operation, revenue threshold, SME status declaration procedure — will be published in the call description. An indicative picture is provided by the requirements of the previous call No. 02-126-K, described below.

Eligible costs

The list of eligible costs for the new call has not yet been published — it will be provided in the call description. In the previous call No. 02-126-K, the following cost categories were eligible:

• costs of acquiring and implementing an artificial intelligence product and/or solution;
• software and licence rental costs;
• indirect project costs at the applicable flat rate.

Deadlines and status

As of 11 July 2026, call No. 02-132-K is planned and not yet announced. The esinvesticijos.lt portal states:

• planned call announcement date — 29 January 2027, 14:00;
• application deadline — 29 April 2027, 17:00.

The submission channel for the new call will be specified in the description; in the previous call, applications were submitted via the Data Exchange Site (DMS) at dms.investis.lt.

Benchmark: the previous call

Until the new call's description is published, the previous call under the same activity — No. 02-126-K “Implementation of AI Solutions” (announced 2026-02-27, applications accepted until 2026-06-18 17:00; as of 11 July 2026 marked “suspended” on the portal) — can serve as a benchmark:

• in the previous call No. 02-126-K, the total amount was EUR 3,750,000: EUR 2,500,000 for the Central and Western Lithuania region and EUR 1,250,000 for the Capital region (Vilnius region);
• grant size — from EUR 15,000 to EUR 70,000 per project;
• funding intensity — up to 50% of eligible costs (own contribution — at least 50%);
• applicants — SMEs operating for at least two years, with average annual sales revenue over the last two financial years of at least EUR 145,000;
• principal activity — under EVRK 2.1 section B (mining and quarrying, with certain exceptions) or section C (manufacturing, excluding the manufacture of refined petroleum products), with revenue from these activities making up at least 51% of total sales revenue;
• project duration — up to 12 months from contract signing, with activities to be completed by 2029-09-01.

Important: the terms of the new call No. 02-132-K may differ from the previous call's parameters listed here; the final terms will be set only once the call description is published.

How to prepare

Ahead of the expected announcement on 29 January 2027, it makes sense to:

1. Check your SME status and prepare the small or medium-sized business entity declaration. 2. Assess whether your company's principal activity and revenue structure would meet the criterion applied in the previous call — at least 51% of sales revenue from EVRK section B or C activities. 3. Review the financial statements for the last two financial years: the previous call required average annual sales revenue of at least EUR 145,000 and an operating history of at least two years. 4. Define the specific artificial intelligence solution to be implemented and the production process it will digitise: prepare a needs justification, a preliminary budget and a supplier survey. 5. Plan your own contribution — in the previous call it amounted to at least 50% of eligible costs. 6. Set up access to the Data Exchange Site (dms.investis.lt) and follow announcements from esinvesticijos.lt and the Innovation Agency (Inovacijų agentūra) so as not to miss the publication of the call description.
